Despite dealing with an ankle injury that hindered him during the NLDS and NLCS, Freeman's heroics at the plate led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-1 series win over the New York Yankees, securing the franchise’s eighth World Series title.
Freeman's World Series campaign was headlined by a record-breaking home run streak, which set the tone for the Dodgers’ dominance. His Game 1 walk-off grand slam, the first in World Series history, helped the Dodgers come from behind to win 6-3 in extra innings. He followed up that performance with home runs in Games 2, 3, and 4, making him the first player to hit homers in the first four games of a World Series and breaking George Springer's previous record of five consecutive World Series games with a home run.
In Game 5, while Freeman didn’t hit another home run, his two-RBI single in the fifth inning ignited the Dodgers' rally from a 5-0 deficit, eventually leading to their 7-6 win. This victory marked the largest comeback in a World Series-clinching game in MLB history.
Throughout the series, Freeman collected six hits, drove in a series-record 12 RBIs, and blasted four home runs, solidifying his MVP status and adding yet another accolade to his illustrious career.
Freeman’s offensive consistency and clutch performances made the 35-year-old first baseman an undeniable force, propelling the Dodgers to their first full-season World Series title since 1988 and further establishing his legacy in Major League Baseball.
