When you're hungry, you're really hungry. Or that's how we see it, after watching a video of the squirrel taking snack time into his own hands.
The woman was stunned! Stunned, we tell you! There was no way she could foresee the way the squirrel would get up close and personal with her. If you've ever dreamed of petting a squirrel, well this might ruin the illusion for you.

In the video shared by ABC 7 LA, it shows the totally shocked woman sitting on a bench when the squirrel crawled on her lap. Then things got super strange. The squirrel fought her for access to her pastry bag. It snatched up the treat and then took off. The woman was robbed! Sadly for her, we think the thief is going to get away with it too.
People online were cracking up at the theft. "She just let it happen," lamented one person. "THEY PROBABLY HAVE A FAMILY TO FEED," someone else exclaimed. "Witnessed a robbery but didn’t see NOTHIN," chimed in another commenter. "Squirrel said 'I'm more hungry than you,'" another person joked. "Grand Theft Bagel," added one commenter.
Do Squirrels Like People?
They might seem cute and fluffy, but unfortunately squirrels probably don't want to be our best friends. Unless you're Snow White, then maybe it could happen.
For the rest of us, we need to accept that squirrels aren't particularly interested in befriending us. They sort of want to keep their distance. That doesn't mean they won't get up close, however.
Because squirrels tend to go into humans in public spaces like parks, it's possible to get very close to them. They might even remember you if you give them a little food. But in truth you should probably keep your distance when it comes to squirrels. It's not great for them to eat human food — it can really make them sick.
Now if a squirrel comes up to you and steals your food, that's a whole different story. You might just have to let it happen — or not eat delicious snacks in the open.
