Following a heated moment in Game 4, two New York Yankees fans will be absent from tonight’s Game 5 after being ejected for interfering with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts.

The incident, which involved the fans trying to disrupt Betts' play along the right field line, has led the Yankees and Major League Baseball to impose a ban on the pair.

Despite initial claims to ESPN that they would return, season-ticket holder Austin Capobianco and his friend John Peter have been officially barred from Yankee Stadium. The Yankees stated, "The type of behavior displayed last night is egregious and unacceptable," emphasizing their zero-tolerance policy.

The play itself, which happened during the first inning when Yankees leadoff hitter Gleyber Torres hit a foul ball, saw the fans attempting to interfere by reaching into Betts’ glove after he made the catch. MLB rules allow fans to attempt catches within the seating area, but the umpires ruled Torres out due to intentional interference.

Capobianco, showing little remorse, told ESPN, "We talk about these situations… we’re willing to do this." The Yankees, however, responded firmly, underscoring that fan enthusiasm should not cross into endangering players.

MLBPA executive director Tony Clark also weighed in, affirming that league security will continue to monitor fan interactions and safety protocols closely going forward.
